Abstract
Pain is a common but troublesome clinical problem encountered by physicians. Opioid analgesics have been the mainstay of controlling severe pain, especially cancer pain. Though Opioid analgesics are very effective with no ceiling dose, opioids can be associated with various adverse effects. Physicians who prescribe opioid analgesics should have knowledge of managing adverse effects of opioid analgesics. It is also important to select a proper opioid among many commercially available drugs.
